Kale Chips
Ingredients
- 1 bunch kale
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt (or to taste)
Directions
- Adjust oven rack to center position and preheat to 300°F
- Wash the kale and remove stems. Keeping the kale in larger pieces
makes it easier to put into the oven and easier to eat.
- In a large bowl, mix the kale, with the olive oil, salt, and any
optional flavorings. Massage the leaves to soften them.
- Arrange kale in a single layer on baking sheets and transfer to the
oven. Cook for 15 minutes or till crispy (but not browned)
When done, transfer kale chips to a wire rack to cool.
Notes
- Optionally mix spices or flavoring with the olive oil. Possible
options include:
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/4 tsp paprika (or other chili powder)
- 1/4 tsp paprika (or other chili powder) with 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
- If making habanero kale chips, 1.4g of habanero is too much.
